Shop Tax Free in Three Easy Steps

Go Shopping
- Look for the Global Refund logo in-store.
- When paying for your purchases, ask for a Global Refund Tax Free Form.
- If you are a Global Refund member, present your Global Refund User ID to store staff. Your details will be filled out automatically.
What to look out for…
- Standard VAT Rate in RussiaThe standard VAT rate in Russia is 20% applies to most of goods, reduced rate 10% applies to some goods such as food, medicine, water, books and child goods. Goods not refundable: excise goods like cars, some oil products, alcohol & tobacco are not eligible for refund.
- Minimum purchase amountThe minimum amount spent by a shopper to get the tax refund in Russia is 10 000 rubles.
- Info on eligibilityEligibility information on the purchasing of Tax Free goods is available here. Travelers with passport issued by a foreign country outside the Eurasian Economic Union (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia) are eligible for Tax Free Shopping in Russia.

Get Customs Validation
- When you depart from your shopping destination, go to the nearest Customs.
- Present your completed and printed Tax Free Forms, passport, and original purchase receipts for validation.
- Goods should be kept unused, available for inspection.
- Get an electronic stamp by Customs on your Tax Free Forms.
What to look out for…
- Stamping period3 months from date of purchase.
- Validity of stamped form12 months from date of purchase.

Receive Your Refund
- Keep your electronically validated Tax Free Form.
- Receive your refund on your bank card specified in your Global Refund profile.
- The refund paid is the VAT minus Global Refund's service fee.
Our tips
No refund can be made without:
- Tax Free Form(s) completed with inserted bank card number and signature from the traveller.
- Tax Free Form(s) with electronic stamp by Customs within 3 months after purchase date.
- In case of Custom stamp on your paper Tax Free Form – please, mail back your paper stamped Tax Free form in the envelope to Global Refund office (Nizhniy Kislovskiy pereulok, 5, building 1, office 15, 125009, Moscow, Russia). Please make sure that you have: all pages of Global Refund Tax Free Forms stamped by Customs, filled in your contact phone and email, filled in your bank card number, copied your Tax Free Form number (Doc ID).
